Adobe Connect 8 + Windows 8

I couldn’t resist the urge to download the developer release of Windows 8.  The OS looks awesome.  I followed a few easy instructions to get it running in Virtual Box on my laptop (didn’t have another computer to install it on).  Every thing worked like a charm.  Then I thought, “I wonder if something like Adobe Connect works out of the box with Windows 8?”  The Flash Player and Connect Add-in installed perfectly.  Sure enough, screen sharing worked like a … Continue reading

Adobe Presenter Updated (7.0.7)

It’s an exciting time for Adobe Presenter users because it’s been updated and now supports ActionScript 3.0.  This means you can add AS3 SWF files (from Captivate 5 and Captivate 5.5).  This also means Adobe Presenter content also works with Adobe Connect 8.  Can you hear all the cheers? There are a couple things you will want to be aware of: Adobe Presenter 7.0.7 is a FREE UPGRADE for anyone who currently own Adobe Presenter 7 or ANY version of … Continue reading

Two Videos: Creating custom Adobe Connect 8 pods

I’ve just finished two videos on creating custom pods for Adobe Connect 8 using the Collaboration Builder SDK.  Both Part 1 and Part 2 are posted to our Videos section. It’s recommend you use the Flex 3.5 SDK to build custom pods.  This article is meant to show you a way hack you can use to make your AS2 content sync in an Adobe Connect 8 meeting room.  For more information on building a “real” custom pod, download the Collaboration Builder SDK from the Adobe Connect Developer Center.  Stay tuned … Continue reading

Is web conferencing right for you?

Last week Easel Solutions hosted an exhibitor booth at Infotec, an annual business technology conference put on by the AIM Institute in Nebraska. Over the course of two days, I spent a significant amount of time speaking to conference attendees about the new features in Adobe Connect 8, Adobe’s enterprise web conferencing solution.  I had a blast watching people’s expressions as I demonstrated Connect’s multimedia capabilities and collaboration tools and was amazed at the different ways that attendees saw themselves using web conferencing.   One … Continue reading
