Offline iPad Website made with HTML5 and Captivate

Just uploaded another Captivate-to-iPad video, but with a little different twist.  This one takes the HTML5 output from Captivate and converts it to an offline website.  The big difference here is that you DON’T need to be an “Apple Developer” because this isn’t an actually iPad app.  It’s essentially a web site  (HTML page) that will download all the assets is needs (images, css, javascript, etc) so it can function without an internet connection.

Check out the video for detailed steps.  It’s still a little bit of a hack, but shows we’re getting closer to it being “easy”.  In the video, I made a small AIR application to help generate the “cache.manifest” file (watch the video and you’ll see what I mean).  You can download that little app (as well as the other files ) by clicking here.  You’ll need Adobe AIR to install the application.  You can download it for free from here.

Let me know if you make anything cool!
